Spring Fashion Report
Six fresh ways to dress your baby this season
The traditional shade of gender-neutral green has been replaced with a spectrum of edgier hues from moss to chartreuse. We love how the new greens are being mixed with other colors: navy and teal at Tea Collection, purples and pinks at Pink Chicken, red at Olive Juice, striped with white at Neige.
Usually, stars feel very nautical or Fourth of Julyish. But this season they’re a staple flourish on everything from sneakers at Mini Boden to bobo choses jumpsuits. There’s a very different feel when they’re an all-over print versus just an accent.
We are blown away by the adorable bloomers that keep coming in from brands like Pink Chicken. No longer are they meant to simply cover diapers. We love them as swimsuits, an alternative to shorts, or just for adding some color under dresses.
We’re seeing a lot of subtle mixing and matching of patterns—stripes with florals, plaids with stripes. Rather than looking mismatched, it creates a look of freedom that reflects the nature of dressing kids. Pictured, dot/plaid dress from Pink tomaTINA.
Birds and butterflies are popping up everywhere, as a refreshing alternative to the zoo animals we see on graphic tees all the time. Birds and butterflies feel more special—from the very graphic treatment to embroidered details to silkscreen designs. Pictured, Shirin Ruffle Shoulder Tee.
There’s a lot of emphasis this season on the hand-stitched and handcrafted. It’s all about special details, whether the thread color of the buttons on a Busy Bees polo or the handmade straps of a top by Makie.
We’ve been spending waaay too much time lately on tada! shop. It’s just one of those addictive weboutiques where you hop on looking for, say, a spring jacket for your son, then find yourself a half-hour later ogling a crushed glitter belt for your niece. Recognizing tada! shop’s knack for spotting trends, we asked founders Holly and Hadley to share what they’re seeing (and loving) for spring.
